ABOUT THE PUBLICATION
A clearer map of municipal work.
Civic Work Fieldguide is an independent editorial publication about Boston workforce resources and public-service careers. It is not a government website, employment agency, employee portal or representative of the City of Boston.
Who is responsible
Responsible publisher: mike bravos. Editorial contact: bravos@corp.com.
This publication is not affiliated with, sponsored by or operated by the City of Boston. Brand names identify the subjects of the articles, not the publisher. The publisher funds this website. This publication does not receive affiliate commissions or payment for the articles in this collection. What readers will find
The collection contains 19 guides on employee-resource roles, career routes, benefits comparison and practical workplace questions. Four original diagrams and a local resource comparison translate public information into planning tools. They do not make individual decisions or submit requests.
How the articles were prepared
Articles are based on cited public City sources, including Boston.gov and the City’s public employee handbook. Source references and review dates appear in the articles. The publisher is responsible for reviewing and maintaining the material after installation. No interviews, employee experience or professional credentials are claimed.
Our original contribution is the comparison method, worked hypothetical scenarios and question preparation. We keep public descriptions separate from individual eligibility, official approval and account status. An older source remains an older source even when it is reviewed today.
What we leave to the responsible service
Only the employer and other authorized resources can establish applicable terms, complete a transaction or answer a private case. The publication provides no legal, medical, tax or investment advice. It does not collect applications, credentials, employment records or incident reports.
Corrections
Send the article title, the point at issue and a public source reference through our editorial contact. Do not send private documents. A substantive correction should identify what changed and update the affected review information; a new date alone is not a correction.
Reading without optional storage
All guides and resource tools work without optional tracking or an account. The built-in optional feature remembers reading position on your browser only after permission. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy and Settings.
